S Jaishankar Spoke To Iranian Foreign Minister: After receiving the news of 17 Indians being in the Israeli ship captured by Iran, the Indian government is continuously making efforts for their release. On Sunday (April 14), External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar spoke to Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdullahian. In this evening conversation, the situation created due to Iran-Israel conflict was discussed.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar wrote on Twitter, “Spoke this evening to H. Amiradolahian, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Discussed the release of 17 Indian crew members of MSC Aries. Current situation in the region was also discussed. This During this, it was emphasized that both the countries should avoid increasing tension, exercise restraint and return to diplomacy.
Iranian commandos captured Israeli ship
Actually, the ship belonging to Israel which was captured by the commandos of Iranian Navy, had 17 Indian citizens on board. There was talk of this ship leaving from UAE reaching Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai. The ship was passing through the Strait of Hormuz when Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commandos, who landed by helicopter, captured the ship. Immediately after receiving information about the Indians, the Indian government started diplomatic talks for their release.
Iran’s government news agency has confirmed that the ship is in Iran’s possession. It has been reported that MSC Aries has been captured due to tension in relations with Israel. This ship of London company Zodiac Maritime had the flag of Portugal. Zodiac Group is owned by Israeli billionaire Iyar Ofer. A video of this incident has also surfaced in which it is seen that armed commandos are landing on the ship from the helicopter. After this, on Sunday, Iran attacked Israel with more than 300 drones and missiles, due to which relations between the two countries have further soured.
